Dorothy "Dottie" Marie Fowler Buckner

BOSSIER CITY, LA – Dorothy (Dottie) M. Fowler Buckner, age 74 passed away on Wednesday, September 30th, 2015 after she fought a lengthy battle with lung cancer. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, October 5th, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Randy Harper officiating. Visitation will also be held on Monday, October 5th, 2015 from 10 AM to 11 AM. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.

She was a member of Bellaire Baptist Church and loved bingo, garage selling, and spending time with family and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Buckner (Buck); son, Robert E. Buckner Jr. (Little Buck); her father, mother, both grandparents, and aunts.

She is survived by her daughter, Tami Buckner; granddaughters, April Buckner and Destiny Buckner; grandson, Robert E. Buckner III, great grandkids, Diamond and Quevo; sisters, Linda Jones and Ann Hicks; brother, Steven Fowler; sisters-in-law, Delores Fowler, Jan Kwilos, Reba Coe, and Rebecca Williams; brothers-in-law, Larry Williard, Craig Williard, and Jack Coe.

Pallbearers for the service will be Larry Williard, Steve Kwilos, Philip Williams, Steve Idlett, Doug Connelly, and David Buckman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The family would like to extend thanks to the staff of WKH Cancer Center, Christus-Schumpert Grace Home, and Bellaire Baptist Church. Plus special thanks to Philip Williams, Shelley Hicks and Brenda Pelt for the many hours of caregiving.
