In loving memory of "Penny" Edna Irene Reeves Honaker Carter (94 years) born October 3, 1926, in Renfro, Oklahoma to Edna and Fred Reeves. Penny passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021. She is survived by her daughter, Patty Overfelt, granddaughter Melissa Sansom, husband Joe, great-grandson Mason Stine, great-granddaughter Melody Ward, husband Brad and great-great grandson Barrett. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 6 siblings – Paul Reeves, Carl Reeves, Ray Reeves, Nancy Reeves, Karl Reeves and Fred Reeves and son-in-law Billy Overfelt.
Penny made her home in the Haughton/Bossier City area in 1960, where she and her late husband Wallace Honaker raised Patty. Some years later Penny married her late, second husband, Chet Carter. She was an active member of the First Christian, Disciples of Christ Church of Bossier City for 50+ years where she served as secretary, organist, and later named the first, female, elder, of the church.
If you knew her you loved her. If she knew you, you were family. She was loved and will be greatly missed!

Services will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Haughton, LA, on Thursday, February 4, 2021, with Barbara H. Driscoll, presiding. Visitation at 10:00 a.m., services at 11:00 a.m.
