Elisabeth Moreau, 92, of Bossier City, Louisiana passed away peacefully on September 10, 2023, in Katy, Texas. She was born in Germany on May 5, 1931. She met her husband, James Moreau, in Germany and they were married October 1958.
She was a stay-at-home mom to four children. As an accomplished seamstress, her sewing included everything from hemming pants to making beautiful bridesmaid dresses. Her beautiful Christmas cookies and German stollen were not only a work of art but a delight to everyone who tried them. She was a wonderful grandmother not only to her own grandchildren, but she lovingly became grandmother to children outside the family.
Elisabeth is preceded in death by her husband, James D. Moreau and grandson, James R. Slawson.
She is survived by her sister, Helene Preis of Kaiserslautern, Germany. Her children Fred A. Moreau and wife, Amy of Missouri, daughters Sylvia Moreau and Denise Moreau of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by three grandsons Damian Moreau and wife, Margaret; Robert Moreau and wife, Courtney; and Thomas R. Slawson. She is survived by three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews both here in the U.S. and in Germany.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Vantage Hospice whose kindness will not soon be forgotten.

A visitation for Elisabeth will be held Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037. A Celebration of Life will occur Friday, September 15, 2023 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Trevor McClesky. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Hill Crest Memorial Park, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.
