Emma graduated Bossier High School where she played the clarinet in the school band. She worked after school at Lerner Vogue in downtown Shreveport with her mother, Mary Tharp. She worked in clothing retail for many years and later retired from a career in insurance. Emma always had projects and ongoing events. Sewing, arts and crafts, water skiing, sailboat, sororities, and traveling were some of the many things she enjoyed. She loved her family more than life and was a devoted Christian where she served God daily. She was a Sunday school teacher and enjoyed going to local nursing homes and sharing Bible studies. She loved working in her yard and her dogs were her rock. She was a strong woman and would go all in on everything she did. She was a mentor for the many lives she touched by her endless donations to multiple charities. Her personality was contagious and she had the ability to blend in any environment and draw people to her. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
