

Colonel Eric Yobrun Moore, USAF (Ret.) was born Monday, March 24, 1969, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to MSgt Hurdie B. Moore, II, USAF (Ret.) and Annie Lavada Espey Moore. He entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 10, 2025. Eric was educated in Chattanooga, Tennessee and graduated from Hixon High School in 1987. In 2022, Hixson High inducted Eric into their Hall of Fame.
After graduating high school, Eric received an appointment to the Air Force Academy and attended the Air Force Academy Preparatory School and the Air Force Academy. Eric graduated and earned his commission in May of 1992. In 2019, Eric, a proud 21M, retired after serving 28 years of military service, finishing his career as the Chief of ICBM Maintenance Division, Air Force Global Strike Command, at Barksdale AFB, LA.
After retiring from the Air Force, Eric served as a Senior Analyst with Booz Allen. For six years, he used his experience as an ICBM Maintainer and his superior leadership skills to pave the way for the development of the Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile. Eric's contributions laid the foundation for the safety, security, and effectiveness of America's nuclear deterrent for the next 50+ years.
As a dedicated family man, Eric enjoyed spending time with his wife and being his kids biggest cheerleader, coach, and mentor throughout their various school and club activities. He was an avid reader and a car enthusiast, but golf was his passion. He not only enjoyed playing golf, but relished teaching others how to improve their game as well. A man of many accomplishments, he was most proud of his family.
Eric faithfully attended Word of God Ministries in Shreveport, LA.
Eric was preceded in passing by his mother, Annie Lavada Moore; his maternal grandparents: Randolph and Sarah Espey; his paternal grandmother, Lillian Hall; one aunt, Susie Elliott Maples; two cousins: Billy R. Elliott, Jr., and Tjuan Elliott.
Left to cherish Eric’s wonderful memories will be his beloved wife, Erica Moore; three children: Eric Moore, II, Elyssa Moore, Evan Moore; his father, Hurdie B. Moore, II, Kishaun M. (Keith) Green; one niece, Kennedi Green; one nephew, Tobias Green; as well as many extended aunts, uncles, cousins, and many beloved friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A celebration of life will begin 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel.
The family acknowledges with grateful appreciation for the prayers, meals, acts of kindness, and support during this time of bereavement. We are truly grateful, thankful, and blessed for your support of our family.
