Eugene Lindsey

Shreveport, LA - Eugene Lindsey passed away on December 9, 2011 in Shreveport, LA at the age of 85. He was born in Oklahoma to Oliver and Nora Lindsey and lived in Van Buren AR, Bossier City and Shreveport LA. He joined the U.S. Navy during World War II. He then joined the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was stationed at Barksdale AFB and Dow AFB as a boom operator until his retirement in 1966. He and his wife, Ella Mae resided in Bossier where he worked and retired from AT&T. He was widowed after 33 years of marriage in 1986. He then married to Evelyn Dean Davis and they were married for 23 years when she passed away in 2008.

He is preceded in death by his parents Oliver and Nora Lindsey, several siblings, wife Ella Mae Lindsey, son, Steven Lindsey, and second wife Evelyn Lindsey.

Eugene is survived by his son Robert Lindsey; stepchildren Sue Ailshie and husband Steve, Denny Cook and wife Vicki, and Cherie Wheeler; granddaughters Shelley Ferguson and husband Jeremy, Crystal Pooley and husband Sean; step grandchildren Tammy Shirley and husband Dennis, Robin Owens, Amber McCormick, Janin Otwell and husband Sterling, Hannah and Josiah Wheeler and numerous great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be Monday, December 12, 2011, from 5-7 pm at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home Interment will follow in the Field of Honor at Hill Crest Memorial Park.

Honorary pallbearers are Mansel Holmes, Rufus Bohanon, JD Tuberville, Bill Greene, Gordon Adams and Phil Cole.
