Fay was born on April 26, 1930 in Speedsville, New York and passed into the hands of the Lord on July 28, 2024 in Haughton, Louisiana after a valiant fight with cancer at the age of 94 years young. He led a long and incredible life that took him across America and around the world.
Fay proudly served in the United States Air Force for 30 years, many of those years spent as a boomer on KC135 refuelers. He moved his family from Air Force bases in Arizona to California to Washington and finally to Louisiana. He was deployed during the Korean war and deployed for numerous tours of duty during the Vietnam war. After retiring from the air force, he worked for a number of years at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company in Long Beach, California on the military version of the KC10 aircraft project. After retiring from McDonnell Douglas, he moved back to Haughton, Louisiana where he had two daughters, who had married and stayed in Louisiana, when he retired from active service at Barksdale Air Force Base in 1978.
Fay was preceded in death, and now reunited with a daughter, Colleen Jordan and his loving wife of 68 years, Rebecca Ann Steele Jordan. Also, parents: Fay Jordan and Kathlyn Dalola Jordan, brothers: Bob, Roger, Art and Dicky and sisters: Charlotte Bevis, Violet Jordan and Gloria Jordan.
He is survived by daughter, Cherl Jordan Moore and husband Gary of Haughton, Louisiana; daughter, Catherine Jordan Grace of Haughton, Louisiana; sisters, Shirley Andreas and husband Dick of Speedsville, New York, Trudy Morse and husband Chuck of Speedsville, New York and Delores Compton of Caroline Center, New York; two grandchildren, Brian Moore of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Jenny Grace Meyers and husband, Lee of Bossier City, Louisiana; and four great grandchildren, Owen Meyers and Ivy Meyers of Bossier City, Louisiana, Cameron Cain and wife Alli of Haughton, Louisiana, Tony Cain of Franklin, Louisiana and numerous nieces and nephews.
Fay was a loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather. He was always the voice of reason for all the family. He could fix everything and was not scared to work on anything. Anytime anyone in the family needed a plumber, carpenter, electrician, painter, mechanic or you name it, Dad came to the rescue. He had a special sense of humor that always brought a smile. He was a warrior, a mentor, a friend to all he met and a true American patriot. He loved and served his family and his country with an unapologetic passion. He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him, but the wisdom he gave and values he taught us all will live on in each and every one of us.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Willis Knighton Cancer Center in Shreveport, Louisiana for their efforts, compassion and loving care they provided to us over the last fifteen months. Also, to Dr. Kennedy Lim, Carla and staff. Dr. Samip Master, Susie, Carolyn, Byria, Chelsea and his staff. The infusion Center at Willis Knighton North as well as Gentiva Hospice and the nurses and aids that guided us through the last weeks of our Dads life.
Also, special thanks to good friends and neighbors, David, Cody, Wayne & Francis and Darrell, Misty, Caleb and Katlyn, Bryan, Cynthia, the boys, and Toby (the cat) for their love and friendship through the years.
Rest in well-deserved peace and Godspeed; brother, father, grandfather and friend.
