Frank was a private person enjoying nothing more than to spend a pleasant day in his pirogue catching fish on Bodcau or his new favorite place, Ivan Lake. He didn’t hesitate to share his catch, but not what bait he used or where he was catching the fish. He spent several years enjoying the company and exploits of the “4X4 Roughriders”
He was planning to take his family to Arkansas to look for diamonds when he was better, but unfortunately he was taken to see the jewels of the pearly gates instead.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son David Jeffrey, and all six siblings.
Frank was born on March 5, 1933 in Winnfield, LA. He graduated from Winnfield High in 1952, finished trade school and went into the Army with two years served in Fort Hood Texas. He attended Barber School in Shreveport where he worked at two local shops before going to work full time for Kansas City Southern Railroad. He was in clerical service there for 39 years retiring in 1995.
“Papa Frank” is survived by his daughters Sharon and Karen, the mother of his girls, Pat King; grandchildren, Jennifer, Josh, and Kimberly; great grandchildren Dylan, Tyler, Halie, and Kaylee and his longtime companion Geri. We want to thank Ms. Geri for taking care of our Dad all those years. He will be missed by all, but we know he is in a better place and we will see him again over there.
A Memorial service will be held at Hill Crest Funeral Home on Friday April 24 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Andy Harris officiating. The family will be receiving friends for visitation following the service.
