

Gail Gunn passed away on September 9, 2024, at the age of 68 after courageous short battle of cancer, surrounded by her two sisters. She was born to Marshall and Pauline Howington on August 21, 1956. Gail was a 1974 graduate of Airline High School.
Gail was an active member of the Red River Street Rod Club, also a former co-owner of Shreveport World of Wheels as well as Shoe Shop with David. She cherished weekends at the lake with friends, enjoyed quality time with her sisters, and had a passion for car shows. Her vibrant personality made her the life of every gathering; she had a magnetic presence and could make anyone feel like a friend.
Gail is survived by her sons, Mathew Gates, wife Amy Jo, and Ben Gates; five grandchildren, Grayson, McKenna, Grant, Bryson, and Dallas Gates; sisters, Teresa Hicks and Yvonne Akins; brother, Marshall Howington Jr.; nieces, Amy Masters and Shelby Howington; nephews, Trey Hicks and Marshall B. Howington.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Pauline Howington; nephew, Austin Howington, and spouses, Mat Gates and David Gunn.
Visitation for Gail will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Highway 80 East, Haughton, Louisiana 71037. A memorial service will follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
