

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty-six years, Bernice Margaret Whitener Mills; six sisters, and two brothers.
Mr. Mills proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp, during World War II, including the battles of Guam and Iwo Jima.He retired from Dowell Chemical and the LA Ordnance Plant, and he was a member of Grand Lodge of Louisiana F & AM.
Survivors include one brother, Fred Mills; two sons, Gary Mills and wife Bettie of Scott, AR; Rick Mills and wife Marguerite of Powell, OH; three granddaughters,Teri Mills Bunce and husband Raymond; Traci A. Mills; Gari Mills Rucker and husband Rob; one grandson, Joel Mills and wife Heather; six great-grandchildren, Patrick and Andrew Bunce; Garrett and Griffin Rucker; Harleigh and Ellory Mills.
A service to celebrate Jack's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the Hill Crest Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Tuesday, at Hill Crest Funeral Home.
The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude for the loving care given by the nurses, staff , and Dr. Flenniken,of the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home.
