Leon dedicated his life to work as an HVAC Technician, accumulating over thirty years of experience in the field. Outside of work, he enjoyed watching NASCAR, hunting, and playing billiards.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sherrie; his four children, Shaylon Long and husband, Terry; Dayna Reeve; Allysha LeCompte and husband, Ed; and Christopher Gandy. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, five great- grandchildren, his brothers, Steve and Larry Gandy, and sisters, Elizabeth Baronette, Shirley Martin, and Phyllis Brawley, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Cam Gandy, and his brothers, Bubba and Glen Gandy.
A celebration of Leon’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 26th at 2:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Park in Haughton. Leon will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to help cover funeral expenses.
