Irvin Leroy Filler Jr.

KEITHVILLE, LA – Services for Irvin Leroy Filler Jr., 80, will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Pastor Tom Howe officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Hill Crest Funeral Home.

Irvin was born on June 22, 1934 in Rossiter, PA to parents, Irvin Leroy Filler Sr. and Lreain C. Kromer Filler, and passed away after a lengthy illness In Shreveport, Louisiana on December 3, 2014. He answered the call of his country and joined the United States Air Force and retired after serving 21 years, as a Master Sergeant. He also owned and operated Filler’s Upholstery. He taught adult education at Bossier Parish Votech and was a financial planner with Waddell and Reed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Lou Filler and second wife Anne Filler; brother, James Filler.

He was survived by: his sons, Dennis L. Filler and wife JoAnne; Joseph M. Filler and wife Tida; Kurt L. Filler and wife Deborah; Douglas L. Filler and wife Debbie. He leaves behind his legacy to his grandchildren; Angela Johnson; Amy Filler; Justin Filler; Jenny Jordan; K.J. Filler; Audrey Shamsabady; Adam Filler; Tommy Filler; and many great grandchildren.
