

J.J. Smith Watkins, age 76, of Haughton, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in Haughton, Louisiana. J.J. was born May 19, 1948, in Ada, Oklahoma to Johnnie Leroy Walker and Royce Nell Buckley.
J.J. had numerous achievements in her life, including co-owning a global pilot air flight check company, pursuing a career as a model, and playing a key role in managing an entertainment business.
If you knew J.J., you were familiar with her humble, selfless, elegant, kind, and beautiful spirit. Whenever there was a need, she would step in without hesitation, offering help, especially to strangers. J.J. had a fondness for coloring, finding peace and creativity in the intricate designs. She also had a passion for shopping, delighting in uncovering new styles and trends!
J.J. is survived by her husband Michael Watkins; her children, Susan Finley Smith and her children of Clermont, Florida, Jennifer Randall Allard of Tampa, Florida, and Kelly Randall Moore of Dallas, Texas; her sister of love, Marilyn Smith of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sister/cousin, Terri Collier Watkins and husband, Don, who brought Mike and J.J. together, and "Baby Girl" Abby Ann Watkins and All the ones who truly loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Leroy Walker, who along with J.J. were apart of the Choctaw tribe, and mother, Royce Nell Buckley.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Benjamin, Jeremy Smith, James Cunningham, Tony Potter, T.J. Potter, and Michael Potter.
A visitation for J.J. will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM with Bro. Randy Harper officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Natalie Parnell for her kindness and always doing her hair, Cascio's catering, and help and support from the funeral home.
