

Funeral service will be held at Central Assembly of God in Haughton, LA on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. The service will be officiated by Pastor Andy Harris and assisted by Rev. Ken Richmond. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park in Haughton, LA. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Central Assembly of God Chapel.
Jim was born in Shreveport, LA on June 6, 1938 to the late James Henry Boddie Sr. and Cora Tucker Boddie. Jim was a successful business man and owned Superior Truck and Trailer in Greenwood, LA until he retired in 2000. Not one to not work, Jim consulted for Martin Gas and owned Quality Trailer Service until his death. He was an owner of dirt track race cars and won championships in the 1980's and 1990's. He took pride in his yard and was meticulous about its upkeep. Jim loved his family, as well as his church family at Central Assembly of God, where he served his church as an usher and greeter.
Jim is preceded in death by his father, James Henry Boddie Sr.; mother, Cora Tucker Boddie, brother, Paul Boddie and sister, Francis Stewart.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 54 years, Earlene Boddie; daughters: Diana Boddie McClellan and husband Butch, Sherry Boddie, Ashley Boddie Shaul, and husband Kevin. He is also survived by his sister, Nan Stoddard; grandsons: Chris Moore and wife Jennifer, Dustin Moore and Garrett McClellan; great-grandson: Brantley Moore, and soon to be great-grandaughter; Landry Moore.
The family would like to thank the staff of Willis Knighton North and Grace Home. They would also like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Randy Bryn, Kristy Corey P.A. and Dr. Rodney Reeves.
Honoring Jim as pallbearers will be: Terry Pipes, Emmett Randolph, David Lubus, Steven Nattin, Doyle Dempsey and Lee Balentine. Honorary pallbearers will be the Faith Builders Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s honor to Central Assembly of God Building Fund or Grace Home.
