Services for Mr. Manshack will begin with a Gathering of Family and Friends between 5 – 7 PM, Nov. 17, within the Chapel at Hill Crest Memorial in Haughton, LA.
James was born Nov. 19, 1948 to the proud parents, Clyde & Lossie Manshack, in Noble, LA and graduated from nearby, Converse High School. Young James had a knack for machines and engines and was blessed to remain in the field becoming a master machinist, working his way up to Maintenance Supervisor with P & H Tube, in Shreveport for a long and fulfilling career.
As a young man, he found love. He met Ollie Marie Barmore. They married and achieved over 52 years of marital bliss and raising three boys, in Elm Grove, LA.
In the early days, James, quite the tough-guy, loved to box. He actually entered numerous boxing matches on a semi-professional basis. One of his favorite past times, was gathering the boys around and fixing up old cars. More than anything, however, “Pops” loved gathering the entire family around and playing music with all their guitars!
Mr. Manshack was preceded in death by: his parents; siblings, Douglas, Dean, Jessy, Leslie, Woody, Buddy, and Lille Mae Manshack.
He is survived by: his adoring wife, Marie; sons, Jerry, Terry, and James “Jim” Manshack, Jr.; grandchildren, Dillon Manshack, Kristen White, Terry Manshack, Jr., Kacey Manshack, along with two great-grandchildren.
He will certainly be missed by all.
