A memorial visitation will be held for Jerry W. McDonald on Saturday, August 6, 2011 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at

Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.

He retired from the U.S. Navy with over 20 years of active sea and shore service, where he earned the Navy Master EOD Badge and went on to serve as an officer and member of the board of directors of a marine service company with worldwide operations. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed the game, competition and companionship of many friends and fellow “golfers” for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Joanne McDonald, of Elm Grove, Louisiana, two brothers, Jimmy McDonald and wife Debbie of Ellisville, Mississippi, and Richard McDonald of Nacogdoches,Texas, and two children, daughter, Donna Angela McDonald Vallot of Shreveport, Louisiana, and son Jerry William McDonald, Jr., of Dallas, Texas, and 1 grandson Joseph Dudley “Trey” Vallot III, along with aunts, Beverly Carter and Audrey Carroll along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The Providence House in Shreveport, Louisiana.
