I had the pleasure to work and get to know Jerry during our time on the USAA HR team.  He was truly a caring and competent person.  He did everything with integrity and professionalism.  

The entire Turner family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Working with Jerry was such a pleasure. He was a man of remarkable integrity, compassion, and goodwill. He was a great gift to us all.

Darian and I have been blessed knowing the Turner family.  Jerry was a good person who cared about others and always willing to help.  We will cherish the memories of spending time together at their home or attending the many HS & AAU basketball games and tournaments.   Jerry was the quiet cheerleader while Christine and I made sure the boys could hear us.  Those were good times we will hold dear to our hearts.  Christine, we are keeping you and the boys in our prayers.  May the memories bring you peace and comfort.  Love you all. ♥️

Christine, Matthew, Marc, Michael & Mitchell, I was so saddened to hear of Jerry's passing.  He was obviously so devoted and proud of you all.  You all made a big difference to me and Emily at Shearer Hill's and Reagan.  Christine, you, & Jerry, always had great, genuine points to make in Sunday School, made us laugh and never were judgmental.  Please let me know if there is something you all need.

I didn't know you in person, but we rode together often on the Peloton. I hope that your family finds peace in knowing that even strangers thought you were a good person, just meeting you in passing. 

I only knew Jerry through peloton. He was an early riser bc he was almost always on his bike when my Peloton tribe (435amTribe) was riding. He was an avid high fiver on the bike with everyone on the leader board and our group adopted him as one of our own even before we actually contacted him about joining our group. He only rode with us as a group member for a little over a month but during that time he was so active interacting with each one of us. He talked so much about his wife and his “four blessings”. He offered constant encouragement to all and was quick to congratulate each members milestones. We are shocked, saddened and simply stunned by the loss of him. Our hearts, thoughts and especially prayers go out for his beautiful wife and children. I can only imagine how someone with such an infectious personality as Jerry had impacted everyone in his life. God bless his family and may he Rest In Peace eternally in God’s arms. 

I enjoyed getting to know Jerry several years ago, interacting with him occasionally at work. There are people you meet in life who immediately put you at ease, no matter what the situation. That was Jerry. There was an old-soulness that I felt being around him, and a very humble self-confidence and peace that emanated from his presence. As I think back, Jerry was so incredibly unique. Brilliant, patient, calm, confident, deeply caring and empathetic.  His legacy is broad and tremendous. He blessed so many. My deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones. 

I have always considered Jerry to be one of my mentors.  I began working with him at USAA and have remained friends with him through the years.  He was as brilliant as he was visionary in his work - definitely an inspiration and pioneer in the benefits and wellness space.  I just connected with him a month ago to share how much he has meant to me to provide that inspiration.  As I started a new position, his I shared that his congratulations meant more to me as it was from him.  (If Jerry is congratulating you for work, you know you earned it)!   My husband and I were pregnant with our first child when we started working together (who will now be 14 this year).  We are both heartbroken to hear the news.  Christine and family - we are sending our love and prayers to all of you.  ❤️

I was very shocked and sad to hear of Jerry's passing.   I worked with Jerry in his role at Eaton and my role as an actuary/consultant.  Jerry had a very good mind and I had many interesting conversations with him about health care costs and how to best predict them.  I will truly miss him.

I had the privilege of working with Jerry during his tenure at USAA. He was an amazing person – smart, caring, calming, and funny. He would always share stories about his beautiful family – I truly felt like you knew you just as much as I knew him.  

I remember at one point, our benefits team was made up of all girls and Jerry was of course, the only guy.  I told him that while he may have all boys at home, he had daughters too… ”work daughters.” He just looked at me and smiled that big Jerry smile. It really was true though. Whenever we traveled to visit our vendors, Jerry, our “work dad”, always looked after his “work daughters.”  That’s just the type of person he was – always looking out for everyone.

I echo that you don’t find many Jerry’s in the world. I’m just grateful that I was able to meet, work alongside, and learn from my “work dad”.  Hugs and prayers to Christine, the boys and the rest of Jerry’s family and friends! 


Sincerest condolences from Robert and myself. I remember Jerry from Friendship Academy. We were friends on FB and he was encouraging to me with his athleticism. When I was down on myself for thinking I wasn’t working out enough he always had a kind word. Prayers for the whole family in this time of sorrow, God bless you all.

Christine and boys we are so saddened by this news. My memories of Jerry are of a kind man, always a smile on his face and patience around all the Canyon Springs boys that I could never have!! Although we haven’t seen y’all in several years he always had a like or a kind comment on our social media posts.  Sending you huge hugs and prayers for comfort and peace.

My favorite memories of Lee are going squirrel hunting together with our Papaw Reeves. Whether or not we got any squirrels, it didn't matter, because we were just glad to be hanging out with each other and with Papaw. A few years ago when we lost my Mom and Dad, His Aunt Anne and Uncle Don, Lee made the trip for both services back home in Louisiana. That says a lot about His character. Without a doubt, Jerry loved all of His family deeply. He will be sorely missed by all, but we know we will see Jerry (Lee) again. Love Ya Lee, Chip.

I had the privilege of attending high school with Jerry Turner and  his influence on me then is still felt today.  He is unique in that he always was willing to demonstrate the image of God.

I work for an Eaton supplier and had the pleasure of working with Jerry on several projects.  He was always a calm and reassuring voice no matter the circumstances and he had the ability to transfer that sense of calm to everyone around him.  He was a kind person and will be missed.....RIP Jerry

I worked with Jerry at Eaton.   I always appreciated his calm approach and willingness to get involved to figure things out.  Jerry was truly a great person and leader.  He is already missed by many.  I wish peace and comfort to all his family and friends.

I worked with Jerry at USAA.  He was a mentor of mine for a period of time and provided guidance  on work as well as personal issues. I remember him as a smart and kind person, quick to help anyone and very proud and dedicated to his family. 

I met Jerry at Eaton.  He was a kind and friendly person to work with.  He always tried to help and made sure he provided all information required from him on a timely manner.  He was a great leader to his team and a great asset of Eaton.  He will be dearly missed by many.

I met Jerry while working on the same Total Rewards team together at Sysco.  Jerry and I would share stories of our children's activities and accomplishments (academically, sports, military, etc. as we had children of similar ages).  He was so proud of his family and shared his pride through stories of them.   I will keep each of you in my prayers during this difficult time.   I am so very sorry for your loss and so glad that I had the opportunity to know Jerry, he was a wonderful person.

My wife and I knew the Turners from Sunday School in San Antonio.  We both had 4 boys.  Our 4 boys matched up more closely to Michael & Mitchell, his younger two.  Jerry helped coach the church high school basketball team and he did a great job.  He often told me he had no idea what he was doing, but our teams were always competitive and the boys loved him as a coach.  He always had a smile and was fiercely dedicated to his family.   Jerry and Christine did a fantastic job raising 4 strong men and I know they will miss him always.  Our prayers are with Christine and the boys during this tough time in their lives.

Our loss of Jerry will be felt on many levels— Dedicated professional, family, friend, dad, and husband.  That’s because he was a unique individual.

I first met Jerry in 1994 when he and his family were considering a move to The Southfield, Michigan-area and a firm named Watson Wyatt Worldwide.  I was one of the interviewers.  Jerry was a straight shooter, honest, and consistently spoke with a very deep level of integrity.  He was a slam dunk in my opinion.  We were fortunate enough to hire Jerry, and he ended up moving to the city that I lived in— Novi, MI.  Our families got to know each other fairly well.  We probably would have gotten even closer as families, except for a minor issue—That being, my kids were girls, and his kids were boys, and at their young ages, I think they believed that the opposite sex did indeed have “ cooties.”

Anyways, Jerry and I worked fairly closely together at work, and one weekend we decided to play racquetball.  Jerry was a fierce competitor, as was I.  All was going well, when Suddenly “pop”— I had badly ruptured my Achilles’ tendon!  Jerry immediately got me an ice bag, and called my wife to tell her what hospital we were heading to, and then got me there. Jerry then sat there with me until my wife could get there— not cuz my wife or I asked him to, but because he felt it was right.

Jerry left the firm a year or two later.  He called me to inform me of his decision, and to ask my opinion.  I told him I understood, and supported whatever he felt he needed to do.  I also told him if he ever wanted back into the firm, to call me.

Several years passed,  I ended up as the head of the Dallas office, and my phone rang one day. it was Jerry.  He wanted to rejoin the firm— and in Dallas!  It was a pretty simple decision.  Our firm hired him again.

Again, you just don’t find many Jerry’s in the world.  That unique blend of dedicated professional, family-man, friend, dad, and husband.  He will be sorely missed.

I had the privilege of working with Jerry for many years at USAA. He was great to partner with and always gracious. He strived for excellence in all things and we shared a wonderful common bond and faith in the Lord. We stayed in touch over the years and I’ve always been inspired by Jerry’s amazing commitment to his family and to always pushing himself to be at his best. He will be greatly missed, but it’s comforting to know he is safe in the arms of Jesus.  Praying for peace for his family.

Jerry was a great colleague and his competitive (running) spirit inspired me to my fastest mile ever- but still a second behind his! Prayers of peace and healing to his family.

I was one of Jerry’s Peloton riding buddies.  I looked forward to seeing ‘runningdaddy26’ pop up on the leaderboard every morning with an immediate high 5 and then multiple high 5’s during the ride.  He joined our larger group and made an immediate impact with his motivation and overall friendliness.  While I never met him in person, I know Jerry was larger than life and had a profound impact on most everyone he met.  He will be sorely missed by our riding group for his early morning positivity and sense of humor. My sincere condolences to his wife and sons. Asking God for comfort and strength for all of you  at this most difficult time. 

I worked with Jerry at USAA, stayed in touch with him when we were both in Houston and was another Peloton buddy - he put me to shame and inspired me to do better. Always the nicest guy and a great dry sense of humor. To say I was heartbroken when I received the news would be a severe understatement. Jerry aka “runningdaddy26” rode with me every morning around 4am on our peloton Bike’s. He loved to hi five and pushed me every day. I truly miss seeing him on the leaderboard. 
Praying for his family.  He left a legacy that will live on in our hearts. 

Jerry was a rider of the peloton he was in our group the 435amMothercluckers.   I wish I had known him in person.   He always hi fived me and I looked for him in the leaderboard.  It is odd that I never met him in person, yet I know for sure he is a great person. Compassionate, cheerful and a true motivator. Jerry and I worked in the USAA  H. R. Benefits Department in San Antonio for 8+ years.  Jerry had a smile that maden horrible situations bearable.  He was a smart, compassionate,  friend & colleague.  Jerry LOVED his family   .  He was proud of his "best friend  and bride, Christine , and their sons.  RIP my Friend!  HUGS ,

I played basketball with Jerry’s sons Mitch and Michael. I remember one time myself and Mitch went to a ScoutsFocus basketball camp and Jerry drove us. I can’t remember if it was in Houston or Dallas but it was a long drive. I wasn’t going to be able to go because my parents couldn’t take me. Jerry volunteered and ended up driving me and Mitch. Jerry took us to all the gyms and took us to eat in between. I will always remember that weekend because it wouldn’t have been possible without Jerry. That’s just the man he was and the father he was. He’d do anything for his family or their friends, that’s what made him different, what made him special. I still can’t believe this is real...I will always have Jerry and the Turner family in my heart. 

JT was my USAA work brother for many years in HR Benefits.  He was an intelligent man !!! He loved God and his family.   My deepest sympathy - you will be in my prayers.  

I worked with Jerry for the last couple of years at Eaton. He was a caring, compassionate manager, who could quickly understand all sides of the situation. He was always calm and even tempered even under stressful conditions. He will be missed that all who knew him.
