Jessie Keller, 66, of Haughton, Louisiana, went into Eternal rest on December 6th, 2020. He was born on July 15th, 1954, in the city of Chicago, Illinois to Mary (Smelser) Houston and Jesse F. Keller. On July 20th, 1973 he married his best friend Sheryl Larson. They had two children Michael and Sheila.
Jessie was an avid car enthusiast and started working on cars at a young age. He was a part of the Carpentersville Police Reserve, in Illinois and Sleepy Hollow Police Department in Illinois. Then he also started a career in the manufacturing industry. He worked at Apco Valve and Primer. He left the Police force and Apco to open a CNC machine company, Kutwel-Kapcoa.
In 2008, Jessie retired to Cullman, Alabama. He spent 9 years helping the community and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
In 2017, Jessie and Sheryl moved to Haughton, Louisiana to spend time with their three grandchildren. Jessie was able to spend time with working with the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Posse and Funeral Escort. He was also given the chance to be a part of their Honor Guard.
He is proceeded in death by his son Michael, his father Jesse, his brother Jimmy, and his favorite dog Harley.
He is survived by his wife, Sheryl. His daughter Sheila (Sean) Pieper. His three grandchildren Jackson Keller-Pieper, Brooklyn, and Austin. His mother Mary Houston. His sisters Mary Jane Stancil, Laura Vinson, Cynthia McLynn, Delores (Bob) Palmer, Karen (Mark) Osborne. His brother Bobby. He has many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed working on cars. Being a part of the Eagle’s Club 1047 in Gilberts, Illinois. His time riding his Harley Davidson with the Elgin Area Organization. He loved watching the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks both win and lose. His favorite sport to watch was Alabama Football. He enjoyed being a part Bossier Parish Sheriff Posse. He also enjoyed any time he was able to spend with his friends and all his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the K9s of Valor or Immanuel Lutheran Build Fund.
