John graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1982. He also served in the United States Navy. While also being a conscientious employee to the state of Florida at the time of his passing.
He is survived by his son, Jonathan Finnerty; two grandchildren, Jase and Jaxson Finnerty; one brother Michael Finnerty, of Arlington, Texas; and five nephews, James, Jason, Christopher, Nicholas and Matthew.
Service for John will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, in Haughton, Louisiana. on July 30, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses at HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital for their diligence and hard work in caring for John.
