Services to celebrate the life of John D. Henson will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Bellaire Baptist Church with Dr. Randy Harper officiating. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm until service time.
John was born on January 11, 1936. He was the owner of Henson's Carpet One and a member of Bellaire Baptist Church. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was funny, kind, appreciative, generous and loved by all who knew him. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his family.
John is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Moneda Henson; daughters, Tanya Martin, Tina McGee and husband Buck, Tiffani Henson, Terry Stuckmeyer and Wendy Dickson and husband Ryan; grandchildren, Dylan, Lindsay and husband Justin, Shannon, Blake, Trey and wife Samantha, Anna and husband Marco, Shane, Taylor, Haine and Jacob; ten great grandchildren; sister, JoAnne Lind and husband Ross; brothers, Roy Leake and Danny Leake; and many friends.
Honoring John as pallbearers will be Trey McGee, Justin Small, Blake Barker, Shane Stuckmeyer, Dylan Flores and Jacob Dickson. Honorary pallbearers will be Buck McGee, Ryan Dickson, Kurt Raab, Marco Poindexter and James Barnett.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
