Joyce Catherine Stewart

Celebration of life service for Joyce Stewart will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Randy Harper, Pastor of Bellaire Baptist Church will be officiating the service. Interment will follow the service at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends at Hill Crest Funeral Home on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Joyce was a member of Bellaire Baptist Church where she was involved in the church choir. She enjoyed cooking and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joyce was well known as an encourager through her many cards and letters she wrote to her family, friends and pastor on a regular basis; she was truly a blessing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Stewart.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathye Blackburn and husband Harry, Carole Preston and Cooper Cochran; grandchildren, Tonya Davenport Miethke and husband Arthur, Jason Davenport and wife Deanna, Jenny Blackburn Oakley and husband Scott, Clay Blackburn and wife Delyla; great grandchildren, Taylor, Noah, River, Kyleigh, Kaleb, Emma, Avyn and Carter. She is also survived by her sister, Annie Towns and husband Allen, brother Will Streetman and wife Maxine and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Harry Blackburn, Jason Davenport, Clay Blackburn, Arthur Miethke, Scott Oakley, Cooper Cochran, David Bartholomew, Mark Walker and Bob Stewart.

Memorials may be made in honor of Joyce to Bellaire Baptist Church Choir or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
