Judith Kay Simmerman

She had been an active member of Gateway (formerly Broadmoor A/G church) in Shreveport, LA since 1975. She had taught Sunday School for 30 years. She had been a teacher’s assistant at Kerr Elementary for 10 years. She is survived by her sister, Betty Cress Munyon and husband, Marvin of Council Bluffs, IA, and brother, Bill Cress and wife, Betty of LaVista, NE; daughters: Barbara Simmerman Gingrich and husband, Gary, of Overland Park, KS, Joy Simmerman Crank of Shreveport, LA, Vicki Simmerman Reed and husband, Kevin of Benton, LA, and Cheryl Simmerman Ponder and husband, John, of Luling, LA. Grandkids: Jordan Gingrich, Gavin Gingrich, Marie Crank (Donnie) McClellan, Heather Crank (Joshua) Crawford, Felicia Crank, Randy (Clark) Crank-Heflin, Tiffany Reed (Phillip) Hoffman, Michael (Amber) Reed, Ashlea Reed, Breanna Ponder, Nathan (Lacey) Ponder, Amber Ponder. Great- grandchildren: Kailea, Ryan and Peyton Hoffman, Christopher, Hollis and Kingston Reed, Daniel and Paislee Crawford, Jaiden Crank, Darrell Matlock and Dixie Townsend.

Her loving husband, Clyde F Simmerman, preceded her in death on 12/25/2010.

Visitation Service will be on Sunday, October 1, from 3:00-5:00pm at Hill Crest Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Haughton, LA. The funeral service will be on Monday, October 2 at 10:00am at the funeral home followed by a graveside ceremony.
