Laura Trichel

Laura Faye Trichel, age 63, of Haughton, Louisiana passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Laura was born January 30, 1962, in Petersburg, West Virginia to Lester (Bud) Fay Weatherholtz and Emily Grace (Dolly) Weatherholtz.

Laura retired from the Bossier Parish School Board after a career as a child nutritionist.

Laura was deeply family-oriented and loved everyone she met. She was known as the neighborhood mom while her children were growing up. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, admired yellow roses, and cherished the sight of snow-covered mountains in West Virginia. She especially loved traveling to the Appalachian Mountains to spend time with her extended family.

Laura is survived by her husband, Bobby A. Trichel; daughter, Bobbie Faye Trichel; sons, Matthew A. Trichel and Timothy W. Trichel all in Haughton, Louisiana; siblings, Letha (John) Long, Luther (Diana) Weatherholtz, Loretta (Vence) Berg, Lester “Leroy” (Tracey) Weatherholtz along with nieces, nephews, and large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her, father, Lester Bud Weatherholtz; mother, Emily Grace (Dolly) Weatherholtz; grandmother, Iva Grace Dolly; aunt, Edie Pruitt and more.

A memorial service for Laura will be Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Lighthouse Baptist Church Haughton, 7789 South Elm St., LA -157, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.
