La Porte, IN – Services will be held to celebrate the life of Linda Kay Caples at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Stockwell Road Missionary Baptist Church in Haughton, LA with Bro. Nathan Luellen and Bro. Jeff Luellen officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation at 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hill Crest Chapel.
Linda was born on August 31, 1952 in El Dorado, AR and passed away in La Porte, IN on October 24, 2020. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Linda enjoyed reading during her quiet time and when she was socializing, she would be bragging about her grandkids. She loved her family. Linda was a wonderful cook, specializing in “the best spaghetti ever”! To know her was to know the Lord. She spent most of her life leading people His way and cherished every minute of it.
She was preceded in death by her parents James D. Murray and Josephine Murray, daughter Cathy Caples Layton; mother-in-law Annie Lott and sister-in-law Linda Kay Murray.
Linda is survived by her husband Missionary/Pastor Joseph Alton Caples; two sons, Joseph Michael Caples and wife Michelle and James Walter Caples and wife Hope; grandchildren, Raygan Layton, Jonathan Layton, Michael Shawn Caples, Brandon Tyler Caples and Alyssa Marie Caples, and brother James Leon Murray.
