Lt. Col. James Glenn Hovingh

Lt. Col. James G. Hovingh, 90.Went to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 16, 2021. He was a resident of Bossier City and a member of the Bellaire Baptist Church. His activities included serving his country in the Air Force with two tours of duty in Vietnam. He served as the president of the Gideon International of Louisiana. He was also involved in Volunteer Christian Builders, Officer Christian Fellowship, World Changers,

He is survived by his loving wife Jeralyn Briney of 19 years; his children, John Jay Hovingh and wife Janice Lee., Robert Paul Hovingh and wife Susan Gail., Arlene Kaye Purdie, Marlene Raye Cooney and husband Dr. Stephen James, Alicia Lyn Briney, and Alan Keith Briney; grandchildren Joshua James Hovingh, Rebekah Lee Smith, Melisa Purdie, Jackson Purdie, Ron Adams Jr., Shannon Rupert , Steven Isaiah Adams, Jeremiah Larue Adams, Kyle Randall Gresham, Brent Logan Gresham, and 6 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Bellaire Baptist Church on Saturday August 21, 2021 at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Bellaire Baptist Church Building Fund or Gideon International.
