Services will begin with a gathering of family and friends between 9:30 am and 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral at 11:00 am, with each being held within the Sanctuary of University Church Of Christ, Shreveport, LA, with Stewart Freeman and Omar Herrera presiding. A reception will be held in the Family Life Center immediately following the funeral. A private family Committal Service is scheduled later, at 2:00 PM at Hill Crest Memorial Park, Haughton, LA.
Lydia Petra Castorena was born in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico, on Lunes, Junio 8, 1931 to Eleno Y Maria Castorena.
The Castorena family relocated to Juarez, Mexico, where young Petra met a handsome American vacationing. The couple married and they moved to Bossier City, where she raised her only son. Petra lost her first husband, then found love again and married a second time. Lydia worked for several years in the food service industry at Big Chain Cafeterias in Shreveport/Bossier as well as a great Homemaker. She loved cooking and gardening.
Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Robert Markham, second husband, Franklin Harris, along with several siblings.
Left to cherish her memory are: son, George (& Beverly) Markham; grandchildren: Kristie Markham, Paul (& LaTisha) Markham, and Christopher (& Abby) Markham; great-grandchildren: Tatiyana Markham, Gabriel Markham, Sean Markham, Elijah Markham, Emilia Markham, Evelyn Markham, Alex Markham, Adeline Markham, and Christian Markham; sisters: Macaria Castorena, Hermila Ulloa and Consuela Herrera; brother, Roman Castorena.
