Martha was a devoted member of Bellevue Road Baptist Church. She loved reading the word of God and she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family including her church family. She also enjoyed cooking, loving on babies and daily devotionals. She cleaned multiple houses and businesses for many years and gained several friends throughout those years.
In 1967 her dream came true when she became the mother that she always wanted to be to her beloved daughter, Christine Smith.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, William Taft and Ada Bell Poe; sister, Carol Simpson; brothers, David Poe, James Poe, Kenneth Poe, Richard Poe, Rodger Poe, and Clyde Poe
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Christine Smith; granddaughter, Brittany Ballow and her husband Colton and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as Pallbearers are: James Poe, A.J. Poe, Dylan Poe, Tim Allen Poe, Timothy Poe and Blaine Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers are: J.K. Simpson and Craig Simpson.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Bellevue Road Baptist Church. 1195 Bellevue Road, Haughton, LA. 71037. The funeral service will be held at Bellevue Road Baptist Church on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park in Haughton, LA.
