Michael R. Butts

Services to honor the life of Michael Ray "Big Mike" Butts, 63, will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 1, 2021, at Faith Community Church, 4901 Pine Hill Rd., Shreveport, LA. Matthew Butts, nephew, will officiate with Pastor David Weyland and Mrs. Bridgette Butts assisting. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Big Mike will lie in state from 5-7 PM, Sunday evening, January 31, 2021 at Faith Community Church.

Mike was a graduate of Parkway High School and BPCC. He had worked in the Traffic Engineering Dept.- Bossier, Home Depot - Bossier, the Bio-Med Dept. as Manager at Ochsner LSU Health, and most recently Minden Medical Center in the same capacity. He was husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, and uncle and we will miss him very much!

Mike is preceded in death by his father, George R. Butts. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 37 1/2 years, Connie Louan Butts; son and daughter-in-law, Aaron Michael Butts and Bridgette Butts of Haughton, LA; daughters, Loree Jean Castleman of Bossier City, LA and Connie Michelle Butts of Haughton, LA; mother, Nell Butts of Bossier City, LA; brother and sister-in-law, Larry Robert Butts and Susan Butts of Dubach, LA; grandchildren, Jameson McConley Butts, Jackson Cade Butts, Brantley Wyatt Castleman, and his little "angel", Gracelyn Mae Butts; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers are Paul Michael Butts, Ra Phipps, Gene Reep, Frank Sanchez, Scott Andrews, and Joe Little. Honorary pallbearers are Sonny Andrews and the Bio-Med Dept. at Ochsner LSU Health.
