Mike was born in Winston Salem, NC on July 27, 1964. He graduated from Coronado High School in Lubbock, TX. Mike attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock for his degree in Business. After high-school at the age of 18 he started as a store merchandiser for Coca-Cola in Dallas, TX. For 38 years, Mike worked his way up in the company doing various jobs and winning many awards leading up to his current title of Territory Manager on premise in Shreveport, LA. Mike believed in working hard and he lived life to the fullest. He was always traveling with his family and no matter who he met or where he went his friendly warm personality would win them over. He never met a stranger and was loved by many.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Edwina Monroe; Robert and Katherine French.
Mike is survived by his wife of 25 years, best friend and soulmate, Melissa Monroe; daughter, Hope Monroe; son, Logan Monroe, all of Shreveport; father, Franklin Monroe of Potosi, MO; mother, Roberta & Robert Hearne of Little Rock, AR; brother, Matt Monroe of Baton Rouge, LA; mother-in-law, Teresa & Gerry Huber of Farmersville, TX; aunt, Carol & Terry Graham of Boerne, TX; uncle, Tom & Susan Monroe of St. Louis, MO; nephew, Tyler Monroe of Hot Springs, AR; cousins, Thomas Monroe, Katherine Houchins, Jeff Graham and Doug Graham; as well as many close friends and coworkers.
The family would like to thank Coca-Cola United family and Coca-Cola Enterprise family, Chris Giordano with the Louisiana State Fair and Scott Muscutt with the Mudbugs at the Hirsch Coliseum.
