Mike was born on November 17th, 1962 in Bossier City to Peggy Roland. Mike owned and operated M&M Body Shop for 25 years alongside his son Donald. His passion for speed, motors, cars, and boats shined brightly throughout his life. He built and raced jet boats for over 30 years. He was as some would call a “legend” in the boating community. Aside from jet boats, he also enjoyed spoiling his dog Oreo, staying on his houseboat, and going to car shows with his wife Vicki. His love for his family had no bounds. He wanted to include his family in everything he did and his family truly enjoyed helping and watching him with all of his endeavors. He truly lived his life to the fullest to the very last moment.
Mike is survived by his wife Vicki, his children Donald and wife Bobbie, Mandie and husband Casey, and Britney and husband Christian, his grandchildren Morgan, Jacob, Lillian, Hudson, Paxton, Eli, and Beaux Michael, his stepchildren Blake, Vincent, Cherish, Caleb, and Victoria, 17 step grandchildren, and his many friends who he considered “family”. Mike is preceded in death by his mother Peggy Roland.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 11, 2025 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home Chapel and A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 601 Highway 80, Haughton, LA 71037. The family asks that everyone dresses casual and wears their favorite jet boat or racing t-shirt if they have one. If you have a “hot rod” to drive, we’d love to fill the parking lot with some cool rides.
His friends Trey Brice, Jim Stuchel, Larry “Chop” Helms, Jon McLemore, Clint Blakey, and son in-law Christian Walker will serve as Pallbearers.
The family would like to thank the Marion County emergency responders, game warden, and sheriffs department, the Bowie County Dive Team, the Squirtin’ in the Pines organization, and everyone who made a contribution to the family during this time.
Mike will be dearly missed by many and forever a legend to be remembered. Godspeed.
