

Nancy Alice Sevier was born October 31, 1953, in New Orleans, LA and passed away in Shreveport, LA, January 6, 2025. Services to celebrate her life will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Arcadia Cemetery, Arcadia, LA.
Nancy earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Louisiana College and taught in Rapides and Bossier Parish Schools for fifteen plus years before retiring. She was involved in beauty pageants for over thirty years and volunteered as a mentor to pageant contestants in Nashville, TN with Miss Tourism Pageants working closely with director, Teri Z. Alexander.
Through Paws for Friendship, Nancy and her little Yorkie service dog, Remi, visited nursing homes and libraries for twelve years or so. In addition to Nancy’s servant heart and hours of volunteer service, she was a true Elvis fan and member of the Elvis Angels Fan Club for over twenty years.
Preceding Nancy in death are her parents, Warren Jordan Sevier and Betty Woodard Sevier. She is survived by her beloved husband of twenty years, Chip Goodwin; daughter, Melissa Bernice McKay; brothers, Marshall Sevier and wife Sharon, Michael “Mike” Sevier and wife Linda; nieces and nephews, Andy Sevier, Warren Sevier, Emily Sevier Stokes and husband Dave, Amy K. Hanlon and husband Michael, Kris Sevier, and Ashley Kilpatrick and husband Sean; great-nieces and nephews, Andrew Sevier, Jr., Anna Sevier, Orlan Sevier, Gabriela Stokes, Jonathan Stokes, Addilyn Stokes, Bradley Hanlon, Steven Hanlon, Morgan Kilpatrick, Neely Kilpatrick, and Birdie Kilpatrick.
Nancy’s family would like to offer their sincerest gratitude to the EMS team, Caddo Parish Coroner, Christus Highland Hospital, and Nancy’s dearest and best friend, Kay Kersh.
