Naomi Bigelow

Naomi, known to many as “Nanny”, was born on December 22, 1942 in Tallulah, Louisiana to Jarrett and Juanita Collins. She was a loving mother and cherished grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed working in her yard and planting flowers. Her quick wit and fiesty sense of humor will be remembered by all.

Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, Jarrett and Juanita Collins; and her brother, Joe Collins.

She is survived by her two children: Denise Wheeler and husband Mark, Barry Bigelow; five grandchildren, Camden Easley, Brandon Bigelow, Brooke Snedegar and husband Brian, Emily Wilkins and husband Justin, Carly Bigelow; eight great-grandchildren: Jolie Blair, Brent, Cheyenne, Brody, Lillian, Sophie, Wilder, Brooklyn; sister, Doris Wilhite, brother, Ralph Collins; along with many nieces, nephews, and a number of wonderful friends.

The family will be receiving guests for visitation on Friday May 16, 2025 from 1:00 PM until time of service at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana, 71037 with Bro. Brandon Digilormo officiating.

Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Hill Crest Memorial Park, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.

Honoring Nanny as Pallbearers will be Brandon Bigelow, Justin Wilkins, Brian Snedegar, Tim Wilhite, Keith Wilhite, and Jerry Wilhite. Honorary pallbearers will be Brody Snedegar, Brent Bigelow, Greg Wilhite and Joe Collins Jr.

The family would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Christus Highland Intensive Care Unit for the care, compassion, and prayers during Naomi’s greatest hours of need.
