Norma Jean Jabben, 89, a resident of Bossier City, Louisiana, was born on February 4, 1937 in Ruston, Louisiana and passed away on May 17, 2026. Throughout her life, Norma was known for a steady kindness and a thoughtful way of caring for others—qualities that showed most clearly in the quiet, consistent ways she gave of herself to the people she loved.
Norma earned her Bachelor's at Louisiana Tech, an accomplishment that reflected both her resilience and her determination to build a meaningful life grounded in purpose and faith. Her profound love for Jesus shaped her days and guided her generous spirit, as she sought to serve with humility and sincere devotion.
She found deep joy in simple, life-giving pursuits: gardening, baking, and animals were among the comforts that filled her home and heart. She also loved being in nature, hiking and mountains, and those moments outdoors mirrored the strength and steadiness with which she met life. In all seasons, Norma remained selfless in her attention to family—she always helped out family whenever she could, offering support with warmth, patience, and grace.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Gary D. Jabben, and her parents, Walter Richard Ledbetter and Vida Moss Ledbetter.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Julie Jabben; son, Mark Jabben; grandson, Robert Huck; granddaughter, Willow Grace; and great granddaughter, Riley Tripple.
