Ortella "Artie" Adcock

BOSSIER CITY, LA - A Memorial Reception for Ortella "Artie” Adcock, 81, will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, LA. Inurnment will occur at a later date.

Artie was born April 7, 1934, in Waynesburg, KY. Artie built a career as an entrepreneur, owning two successful businesses: Pasquale's Pizza in Shelbyville, IN and Miss Artie's daycare in Bossier City, LA.

She was married to her beloved husband, Darrell Adcock, from 1968 until his passing in 2005. Artie loved vegetable gardening, golf, travel, and was very devoted to her Christian faith. In her later years she devoted her time to helping others, through The Shreveport Rescue Mission. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and friends.

Artie was preceded in death by her husband Darrell, three sisters and five brothers. She is survived by her four children, Larry Morrell of Langley, WA, Debby Dawson and husband Gary of Elm Grove, LA, Darryl Morrell and wife Sharon of Hamilton, OH and Diane Shelton and husband David of Bossier City, LA, her 2 brothers, Larry Atwood and wife Debbie of Waldron, IN and Billy Todd and wife Sherry of Somerset, KY. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Adcock was also joyfully anticipating the arrival of 2 more great grandchildren in July.
