AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Otis Leroy Allen

11 février 1928 – 12 septembre 2024
Avis de décès de Otis Leroy Allen
AUX SOINS DE

Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home & Park

Otis Leroy Allen, a lifelong resident of Bossier City, entered into this world on February 11, 1928, and departed to be with his Heavenly Father on September 12, 2024. Otis was predeceased by his faithful wife of 74 years, Wanda June Hall Allen; two daughters, Linda Sue Allen Calkins (1978) and Martha Ann Allen Lee (2023); his parents, Otis Price and Leola Long Allen; and two brothers, James Allen and Raymond Allen.

He is survived by his devoted daughter, Jeanie Allen Armstrong; five loving grandchildren and their families, Emily Jean Armstrong King of McKinney, TX (husband Brian and Graham, Miles, and Hayes), Lori Linda Armstrong Machen of Benton, LA (husband Kyle and Molly, Lanie, and Lindy), Erin Calkins Falterman of Friendswood, TX (husband Ryan and Chase, Emileigh, and Zane), Mallory Jean Chambers Holloway of Haughton, LA (husband Brannon and Winnie, Holt, and Hanley), and Mason Allen Chambers of Baton Rouge, LA (wife Jessica and Willa and Rhett).

Additionally, Otis is survived by his son-in-law, Charles Lee of Shreveport, LA, and his children Alice Hunt of Haughton, LA (husband Freddie, Evan, and Ainsley), Jon Lee of Arlington, VA (wife Meghan), and David Lee of Hillsborough, NC (wife Alexandra and Emma).

He graduated from Bossier High School in 1945 and later attended Centenary College, majoring in chemistry. As a teenager he worked for the railroad and after high school began driving a gasoline truck. Eventually, Otis began a 22 year career in law enforcement, first as Bossier City juvenile officer and eventually retiring as a deputy with the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Department. Following his retirement, he was employed as bookkeeper for James B. Wells, Bossier City attorney.

Otis was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Bossier and had accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior many years ago. He had previously served as a deacon, Sunday School secretary, and Training Union leader and faithfully attended for many years with his wife and three daughters.

He will be missed by his family, but they rejoice that his struggle has ceased and he is now in the arms of Jesus.

A private family service was held in September.
