With deepest sorrow, we announce that Philip Scott Hoffman, age 40 our most beloved son, brother, father, family member and friend passed suddenly on Friday, March 31, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. Philip fought a courageous battle against an inherited disease known as Factor V Leiden, evolving into Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP) that led to Cardia Atrial Fibrillation.
Philip was born on Monday, September 6, 1982 in Bossier City, Louisiana. He graduated from Haughton High School in 2001. He attended Bossier Parish Community College and LSU-S. Philip was a resident of Haughton, Louisiana as a child and moved to Benton, Louisiana when he married the love of his life. His hobbies included painting, drawing, writing, reading, backpacking, gardening, playing guitar and piano, singing, and spending time with family and friends.
Those who knew Philip, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. Philip will be missed everyday by the love of his life; Tiffany Reed-Hoffman, son; Ryan Scott, daughters: Kailea Worsham, Peyton Hoffman, father; Mark Hoffman, mother; Ruth Parker (David), sisters: Natalie Beck (Jed), Jamie Droddy (Kendal), grandfather; Kenneth Powell, loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and many many great friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; Kenny Powell, grandmother; Martha Powell, maternal grandfather; Rev. Paul Reger and maternal grandmother; Barbara Reger.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037 on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 6:00 PM with a reception time period of 7:00 PM until time of Firework display at 9:00 PM to be held at the Amphitheater on the grounds of Hill Crest Memorial Park.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the hospital staff of Willis Knighton North, their friends, and family for the loving support, friendships, prayers and condolences provided during this most difficult time.
