Devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather and friend
On Thursday April 18, 2019 Raymond Grant Butts, age 77, entered into Heaven while surrounded by his earthly family and loved ones.
A celebration of life service honoring Raymond will be Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 1:00 PM and officiated by Paster Chuck McInturf. Visitation is Monday, April 22, 2019 from 5pm-7pm.
Raymond “Bo Bo” was born September 9, 1941 in Sarepta, LA to Virgil Butts and Ida Mae Butts.
In 1959, Ray graduated from Sarepta High School and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering in Los Angeles, CA. Ray was associated with Storer Equipment and Services for over 40 years until his retirement in 2007.
Ray was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed reading, watching western movies, attending NASCAR races, traveling the U.S. via R.V. and supporting all of his grandchildren’s extra curricular activities.
Ray is preceded in death by his youngest daughter Connie Sue Butts, brother Terry Wayne Butts, father Virgil Butts, and mother Ida Mae Butts.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Weaver Butts. The two were married in 1962. Oldest daughter Gayla Butts Easom and Son-in-law John Easom. His grandchildren Joseph Ford and wife Lauren Ford, Cameron Easom, Christopher Easom, Chloe Easom, and Caroline Easom. Great grandchild Mollie Easom. Brother Michael Butts and wife Carmon Butts. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to the physicians who cared and fought for Raymond’s health and quality of life: Dr. Martin, Dr. Desia, Dr. Reynolds, Dr. Cash, Dr. Dominique, and the countless healthcare providers who provided excellent quality patient care.
