Robert "Bobby" Wayne Christ

Haughton, LA – Services celebrating the life of Robert "Bobby" Wayne Christ will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Central Assembly of God, 700 Hwy 80 in Haughton. The family will receive friends for visitation at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service, at the church.

Robert was born in Corpus Christi, TX on March 12, 1948 and passed away on February 21, 2018. He joined the Marines after high school and served his country 1969-1970 in Vietnam. He remained passionate about the Marines for the rest of his life. He went on to become a firefighter for the city of Shreveport in 1970 and remained there for 30 years. He retired as a District Chief of Shreveport in 2000.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Robert and Dana Jo Christ.

Robert is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sharron Christ; daughter, Rebecca “Beckye” Tolbert and husband David; grandchildren, Grayson and Hunter Tolbert; sisters, Anna Vincent and husband Jan-Michael Vincent and Mary Alice "Cissy" Walker and husband Richard; brother, Ronald Wayne Christ and wife Jackie; his best friend, Steve Hale and wife Vicki and numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones. He was a fiercely loved man and will greatly be missed.

The family would like to thank University Health and its MICU Department, the Shreveport Fire Department and friends and extended family for the care and support they have shown.
