When I first met T,  he was probably thinking another butter bar. I had just received my commission and was assigned to the third herd. I thought has was just another crusty old warrent officer, who should have retired long ago. I can honestly say, I learned alot about supply world through T. I think about him often. I am very sorry to hear him has left this world. My deepest sympothy to T's family and friends.

My deepest condolences to Jane, and his entire family.  I had the honor and privilege of serving under T at Det. 1, 3673rd Maint. Co.  I came to Det. 1 as a “squid” as T called ex-Navy and left a soldier, of sorts.  Shortly after I was assigned to Det. 1, we were activated for Desert Storm.  One fall evening in 1990 after only attending two weekend drills, I came into his office  reporting for mobilization. T was sitting behind his desk with his arms folded across his barrel chest and a smirk on his face and said, “Well squid, the old boy network fixed you up real good.  You’re going to war with me.”  My only response and the only appropriate response was, “Yes sir I am.” 
Despite me being a “weekender”,  he must have seen something in me and took me under his wing, and made me one of his crew for which I am eternally grateful. 
I have fond memories of being one of T’s crew and sitting in Class IX after drill with T, Willie, Bubba and Kat, drinking countless Coors Lights that he always paid for as a way of saying thanks for a job well done.

Though years have passed since I last saw T,  I still think of him often. Thank you for having an impact on the person I am.

To: Ms Jane and the T Turner Family.   My wife (Jan) and I, want to offer our sincere sympathies and heartfelt condolences for your loss of Mr T. You should be very proud of his service and accomplishments in the U.S. Air Force and the Louisiana National Guard, which he honorably served as a great/professional Soldier/Airman. not the demonstration organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble and demonstrate. 
It’s the Soldier/Airman,
not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. 
It’s the Soldier/Airman,
not the politician, who has given us the right to vote, ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
It’s the Soldier/airman, Who salutes the Flag, who serves beneath the Flag and whose coffin is draped by the Flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the flag.

The World today, is a better place, because of this Soldier’s/Airman’s service.
The American Soldier/Airman does not fight, Train and serve because he hates who is in front of him; he Trains, fights and serves because he loves his family who is behind him.

ETERNAL REST GRANT HIM O LORD AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON HIM. Rest easy gently soul. You will be deeply missed and always remembered. God speed on your new journey. Sending our love and for you, that your soul forever rests in eternal peace prayers.
