Roddy Lee Melville

BETHANY, LA – A Memorial service for Roddy Lee Melville, 63, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2014 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Bro. Billy Pierce officiating. The family will be receiving friends at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service.

Roddy was born on February 27, 1951 to Fred and Barbara Melville in Lynwood, CA. He attended school in Lynwood, and graduated from Lynwood High School. He was baptized August 29, 1959 and became a Deacon of the Church March 24, 1963.

He joined the Air Force November 14, 1974 and was a Munitions Maintenance Specialist and was honorably discharged after time served on November 17, 1978. He became a Frame Supervisor for Pacific Bell and Volunteer Fire Fighter for Mokelumne Hill. He obtained his Barber License in 1985 and was the 4th generation to do so.

Roddy was preceded in death by his late wife Deborah K Dietl Melville who passed on June 9, 2006 and his grandparents Thelma and Paul Copenhaver.

He is survived by his wife Penny Manis Melville, his three children; Rhonda Davis, Dachelle Melville, and Jonathan Dietl, grandkids Avery Davis, Colton Davis and Hailey Davis his parents Fred and Barbara Melville and brothers Ronnie Melville, Darryl Melville and Darren Melville
