

Sister Rosie Smith Baker was born to the union of the late Cleveland Smith, Sr., and the late Hattie Williams Smith, in Haughton, Louisiana on December 9, 1940. She was the eldest child of two siblings. On April 14, 2017, God called her home from her earthy home leaving all suffering and pain behind.
She united with the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She was a faithful member until her health began to fail.
Sis Baker attended Princeton Elementary/high School. She relocated to Shreveport, Louisiana and graduated from Booker Washington High School.
She united in holy matrimony with her devoted husband Willie Herman Baker. To this union two (2) children were born, Geraldine Baker Richard and Derek Baker.
Sister Baker was employed at the Barksdale Base Exchange and nineteen years as a cashier trainer at Brookshire’s Grocery.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cleveland Smith, Sr.; mother, Hattie Williams Smith; and brother, Cleveland Smith, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories a loving husband, Willie Herman Baker; one daughter, Geraldine (Albert) Richard; Lake Charles, Louisiana; one son, Derek (Kim) Baker; Rome, New York; three grandchildren, Ashley Richard, Raven Baker and Jealon Baker, nieces, nephews, six sister-in-law’s; six brother-in-law’s; numerous special friends and a host of relatives and friends.
