Ruth Young

A Service celebrating the life of Ruth A. Young will be held 3 PM, August 30, 2017 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, LA. The family will welcome visitors on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 5 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home. Pastor David Pierce will serve as officiant for Wednesday’s service.

H. M. and Selina Rivers Sepulvado welcomed their little firecracker, Ruth Agnes, into this world on September 24, 1934 in Zwolle, LA. She was passionate and strong willed, but always about the right things-- especially about the things she cared for the most: her family and her faith. However, if you happened to be a threat to her family, you might be introduced to the machete hidden under her mattress. Always a straight shooter, she demonstrated selflessness and possessed a heart of gold. She enjoyed gardening, making quilts, pillows, blankets and beautiful little doll dresses. She made mouthwatering biscuits and the best chicken and dumplings, but of course ,being from Zwolle, her tamales were nothing less than heavenly. On Sunday, August 27, 2017, she was welcomed home, and is now walking hand in hand with her precious Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Preceding Mrs. Young in death are the love of her life, Joe Leone; daughter Sharon Lee; grandsons Kenneth Hollowell, Shane Leone and Matthew Crow; and siblings Floyd Sepulvado, Ed. Sepulvado, Clayton Sepulvado and Ruby Sepulvado. Left to cherish her memory are daughters Anette Cupit (Jerry), Diane Hines, JoAnn Hill (Randy), Darlene Thompson and Kim Hall (Jimmy); sister Clara Sepulvado; brothers Frank Sepulvado, Andrew Sepulvado and Clifton Sepulvado; and grandchildren Tanya Leighton (Paul) Michael Hollowell (Melanie), Harley Miller (Scott), Steven Gaskin (Amy), Crystal Jeter (Nick), Brandon Thompson, Joey Gaskin, Rick Thompson (Terri), Jason Kennemer, Billy Hines, Shawn Kennemer, Lawrence Crow and Kenny Crow.

Serving, as pallbearers for Wednesday’s service are Paul Leighton, Joey Gaskin, Brandon Thompson, Billy Hines, Tracy Rowell and Nick Jeter.
