Steve was born October 15, 1953 in Brookhaven, Mississippi to Daniel and Joyce Wooten. He passed away October 2, 2024 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Steve graduated from Parkway High School and LSUS. He was a member of First Baptist Church Haughton.
Steve spent his career in the oilfield starting with Halliburton and eventually starting his own oil and gas consultant firm, SW Consultants. He spent his 45 year career with a perfect safety record. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, NWTF and NSCA.
Steve loved many things but he loved God first and he wasn't shy about telling you. He loved his children and grandchildren with a passion. His family always always came directly after his faith. He was an avid outdoorsman, he was either in the woods hunting or shooting sporting clays. Mostly he loved to turkey hunt because he loved the challenge. Steve begrudgingly took his wife to NASCAR races and they saw his final one in August.
Left to cherish Steve's memory is his wife, Ann Musick Wooten; son, Jason Wooten and his wife Christy of Arcadia, Louisiana; daughter, Stephanie Graves of Shreveport, Louisiana; daughter, Melissa Richardson and her husband Luke of Mobile, Alabama; son, Josh Huckaby and his wife Chelsea of Bossier City, Louisiana; sister, Vicki Dodd of Bossier City, Louisiana; brother, Kerry Wooten and his wife Lisa of Monroe, Louisiana; brother, Brian Wooten and his wife Caprice of Bossier City, Louisiana; aunt, Juanita Davis of Gilmer, Texas; brother in law, Chris Musick of Bossier City, Louisiana; grandchildren Daniel and Jonathan Lenert, Avery Graves Jr., Elijah, Halle, Ezra and Titus Richardson, Jase and Colt Wooten, Easton Burton, and Addison Huckaby; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He joins in Heaven his parents and grandparents.
