Susan Elizabeth Bennett, 80, passed away on April 12, 2026. Born on October 5, 1945, in Lebanon, PA, Susan will be remembered as a devoted presence in the lives of those who loved her. She resided in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Susan was most committed to her husband, Don, of 49 years. She greatly loved her two daughters, Denise and Danielle.
Her formative years were spent in Indiana, moving in high school to Maryland. She graduated from Woodlawn High School with several accolades in shorthand speed, shaping her lifelong gift of writing. Susan had a great passion for the outdoors with traveling, working in the garden, and expression through the visual arts, especially in painting—talents that reflected her thoughtful spirit and the care she brought to the world around her.
A devoted cat lover, Susan had a special place in her heart for her most recent kitten, Sadie.
Susan was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise C. Long, and her grandson, Adam L. Long.
She is survived by her husband, Don C. Bennett; her daughter, Danielle Adams and husband, Thomas; grandchildren, Hunter Long, Bailey Adams, Brooke Adams, and Bridget Adams; and her brother, Michael D. DeFrees and wife, Louise.
The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the nurses, doctors, and staff of Willis Knighton Bossier for their tremendous compassion and dignity. They were truly a great blessing to our family.
