I can’t wrap my mind around this still , I think since  I wasn’t able to come to the funeral, I still haven’t had to face the reality of her being gone. I just wanted everyone to know  that Aunt Tammy was such a strong and loving person. She was in an incredible amount of pain for so many years and if you were around her you wouldn’t have known it, because she always kept smiling and kept going as much as she could. She endured a lot of pain and that is one thing that gives me comfort, knowing she is finally pain-free and in a place where there is no pain or sadness, in a place that none of us can  even imagine, finally with God, finally in his arms. I definitely  looked up to aunt Tammy.  Her marriage with Uncle Ronnie made me believe that true love does exist. They stayed together for 39 years, overcoming so many hurdles, beating every statistic and remained  married, only because of their love for one another and their faith in God.  They weren’t perfect. as an adult I remember Uncle Ronnie mumbling something about Aunt Tammy or Aunt Tammy mumbling something about Uncle Ronnie, but they always chose each other . They knew that marriage wasn’t easy, it was some thing that you chose to do every day, and everyday they chose each other. Sometimes they even acted like teenagers still dating . They are two of the strongest, most loving, most giving people I will ever know. I can’t imagine Uncle Ronnie‘s pain right now, and I can’t imagine how Heather and Lila are hurting  because they lost, not only their mom, but their best friend,  that’s what she was to both of them. She was a strong mother and an amazing grandmother. She wasn’t perfect, but, she tried her hardest to be, always humble, and always loving and giving. Inviting friends  to her home for holidays, if they had nowhere else to go.  I can’t imagine how we will go on without her but she will never be forgotten because she was the glue that held us together for so long. I love you Heather, Lila, Uncle Ronnie 

One of my first memories with Tammy was in church one day when she and Ronnie were newly saved Christians.  She looked at me and other Christians as though we could do no wrong. That was when I told her never to put me or any Christian on a pedal. That we would do things that would hurt and disappoint her, but to keep her eyes on our Lord, and she did that. What a blessing she was to all who knew her.
Now she is seeing our Lord, Jesus Christ, in person.
We will all miss her sweet smiles.

Your love and devotion to your Mom has been an inspiration.  I know Heather shared this devotion as well.  Every beautiful memory will be the legacy that lives in you and your children.  My heart is with all of you in the days to come.  With such profound love comes deep grief.  I pray you are comforted by the outpouring of how her life touched so many people.   God abundantly blessed you by choosing her as your Mom.
