Thurman Curtis Bedgood

Blanchard, LA – Services honoring the life of Thurman C. Bedgood, 74, will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Home in Haughton, LA officiated by Pastor Steven Pounds of Faith Community Church and assisted by Bishop Shelton Young. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be Monday, September 24, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral home.

Thurman was born on December 4, 1937 in Goldonna, LA to Curtis and Myrtie Bedgood and passed away at home surrounded by his family.

He is a retired Captain of the Shreveport Fire Department and retired bus driver for the Caddo Parish School Board. He was a faithful member of Faith Community Church. He loved spending time with all his family, fishing at his camp on Toledo Bend, hunting with sons and grandsons, and growing his gardens.

Preceding him in death was his parents, sister, Mattie Cloud, son, Larry W. Bedgood and grandson, Daniel Curtis Bedgood.

Left to cherish loving memories of Thurman is his loving wife of 55 years, Pauline Cobb Bedgood, son, Gary D. Bedgood and wife Rhonda of Blanchard, LA, daughter, Kellie Grace and husband Kevin of Scottsville, TX; grandchildren Jeremy Bedgood, Paul Bedgood, Josh Bedgood, Danielle Handrop and Addie Grace; great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Jeremiah, Michael, Ethan, Sarah, Kennedy, Paxton, Trenton, Colton and Journie; sister, Marie Jones. He is also survived by numerous family members and a host of friends.

Honoring the life of Mr. Thurman Bedgood as pallbearers will be Jeremy Bedgood, Paul Bedgood, Josh Bedgood, Trey Handrop, Richard Reynolds and Tim Turner. Honorary pallbearers are members and retirees of the Shreveport Fire Department.
