

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Twyla McMillan on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Bro. Rodney Smith, Pastor of Church of God, will be officiating the service. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
Twyla McMillan was born on June 8, 1933 and went home to be with the Lord on December 18, 2011. She was secretary for Bank President and secretary for a lawyer. She served three terms on the International Cake Exploration Society Board of Directors, taught cake decorating for Michaels and Bossier Parish Community College and was the ICES membership coordinator for 19 years.
Twyla was a member of the Church of God, a life-time member of International Cake Exploration Societe’ and was a Wilbur Brand Memorial Award recipient.
She is preceded in death by parents, brothers, Harry, and Benny, sister, Anecia and son, Lee Edward McMillan.
Survived by husband of 60 years and 4 months, Virgel Andrew McMillan of Bossier City, LA; sons, Stanley Whitley McMillan, wife Kathy of Waco, TX, Timothy Gaylan McMillan, wife Rhonda of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Elizabeth McMillan Dickson, husband John of Bossier City, LA; son, Malcolm Andrew McMillan, wife Lynette of Shreveport, LA; daughter in law Grace of Guthrie OK; and son, Virgel Andrew McMillan Junior, wife Dana of Bossier City, LA; grandchildren: Aaron and Kimberly McMillan, Waco, TX; Ethan McMillan, Dallas, TX; Christopher and Amanda McMillan, Lubbock,TX ; Deborah and Casey Gass, St. Kit; Andrew McMillan, San Marcos; Jarrad McMillan, Bossier City, LA; Chelsey McMillan, Shreveport, LA; Deanna McMillan Guthrie OK, Bradley McMillan, Guthrie OK; Orry and Sarah McMillan, Norfolk VA; Logan McMillan, Bossier City, LA; Andrew McMillan, Bossier City, LA and great grandchildren: Codi, Cara, Alexis, Lucas, and Xander McMillan.
She is also survived by a host of nieces,nephews and friends too numerous to count who will always remember her smiling face and gentle heart.
