Reece spent his early years growing up in Cash Bayou, Louisiana, and later made Haughton, Louisiana, his home. He was deeply loved by the community and cherished the town and its people.
A graduate of Sicily Island High School in 1986, Reece joined the US Army in May of the same year. He served in the 4th Infantry out of Fort Carson, Colorado, for a period of 3 years. After his military service, Reece pursued his passion for aviation as an airplane mechanic at Robbie's Flying Service, where he had been involved since the age of 13. His love for M Air Bi-wing planes and crop dusting was well-known.
Reece was the youngest grandchild of William Ray (Pat) Barron and Pinkie Lou Rush Barron, who raised him. Reece and Misty, his wife, shared a life filled with love for 33 years. Known affectionately by many names such as Paw, Pawpaw, Papi, Papa, Uncle Weece, and Unk, Reece was a father figure to numerous children, nieces, nephews, and bonus children.
Reece's home was a sanctuary, a safe haven where he demonstrated love through everyday gestures. He was not one for grand gestures but instead showed his affection through thoughtful acts, like picking flowers for Misty or ensuring she had an Easter basket every year.
Reece was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. Even after becoming disabled, he enjoyed spending time on his back porch. Known for his legendary bear hugs, Reece was a quiet man who listened intently, offering comfort to those around him. Cooking was his love language, and he delighted in preparing meals for family and friends, especially for his nieces, who cherished weekends spent in his kitchen.
Reece is preceded in death by his father, William Louis Barron; and his mother, Bobbi Linda Gree. Reece leaves behind his Aunt Eloise, and numerous cousins in Cash Bayou. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him, as he was a man who listened, loved, and embraced life with open arms.
