Eleanor Padawer

Eleanor Padawer of White Plains, New York, formerly of Scarsdale, New York, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015. She was born in Sunnyside, New York on May 5, 1938. Ellie attended Queens College, Iona College and and Manhattanville College. She earned a B.A., M.Ed. and a second Masters in Special Education.

She was married to Dr. Melvin J. Padawer, who predeceased her. Her longtime partner was Henry Lynch (Hank).

Ellie had a career in Special Education for Graham Windham School and Sleepy Hollow Middle School. She was a member of the New York State Teachers Union and had a passion for reading, movies, helping others, gardening, her grandchildren, her children, and cultivating lasting friendships.

She is survived by her loving children Craig (Joanne), Kevin, Melissa Marini (Lucien), grandchildren Olivia & Jacob Marini.

She is predeceased by her mother and father, Lillian and Joseph Motz, and sister Marilyn Motz.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Riverside Memorial Chapel, 21 West Broad Street, Mount Vernon, New York 10552.

The interment will follow the service at Beth David Cemetery, 300 Elmont Road in Elmont, New York.
