Thinking of you Liz, it has been 1 year since you have gone. I think of you all the time, whenever I see a cockatoo in the wild here. I greatly admired your love and passion for so many things, and in particular your generosity and care for animals and birds. I imagine you flying free like the birds you love, at peace.

Today marks one year since her passing. I had been in touch with her sister Samantha, but my facebook was hacked and erased. Coincidentally, Liz was the person who signed me up for facebook in 07, she accurately could see MySpace was not going to hold up by comparison. More memories of her gone without facebook now. Liz was born in summer full of life and died on a cold freezing day in January. My youth is gone but it doesn't seem like that ago we had just met. I have remembered Liz for many years after first meeting her in 2007, and was very saddened by this devastating news. My condolences to the family. I would thank her for the six occasions we spent time together: the Knicks game, the mall, the fall fair, the state park, the apple orchard, the movie. I appreciate the birthdays and holiday moments when she replied to me. I regret that the friendship was not able to continue to a fuller extent, but I value the pictures we took back then. So young then and so young to depart. I don't know everything about her life, but I know she had very significant struggles that she and everyone around her worked so hard to overcome. I am so so broken hearted to hear about Liz! She was a true angel on this Earth taken far too soon.  I am sending all my love to the family!

Liz was one of the kindest people I've ever met. We were friends in high school and I remember her always having a smile on her face. She was a great runner, avid reader, and a fun and unique person to be around. I will always remember her for her love for animals of all kinds. Liz made the world a more fun and loving place. I met Liz  at PLAN. She was a great friend, and loved animals large and small. She could always cheer you up. I enjoyed listening to her stories about the animals she met and helped. I miss Liz so much already. Also, sending hugs and love to your family and all her other friends.

I've deleted more drafts of this than I can remember... Nothing I write seems adequate, I cannot find the words to express how great a loss to everyone who Liz touched in their lives. This photo was taken, by Liz, the last time I saw her. She had visited me at work and had Ellie pose on the register. Always smiling, always with at least one animal nearby... The world lost an amazing person with Liz. I offer my deepest condolences to all of her family.

My memories of Liz go back years. We met at Foster Parrots and she was so very interested in learning everything about birds. We were partners under a tent at a festival for community outreach. Her dad and faithful dog Henry were with my husband Phil and I. She was the most kind and warm individual befriending everyone she crossed paths with. She loved advocating for all animals which was her passion in life. Later on she would send gifts/toys to foster parrots for all the residents. Liz sent me a bundle of toys for old Mrs Wobbly when I took her home to rest. Such a kind soul. I will miss you Liz. You were a bright light in the world. I can only imagine the impact yet to become apparent from all of your efforts towards animal advocacy. Rest in peace dear friend. Sending all my love.

A beautiful young woman from the inside out.  Liz spoke before our adult education group on the Shoreline, giving a wonderful talk about parrots and her work and devotion to the rescue organization.  Liz gave and received much love in her family and with her colleagues and friends.

Liz was always kind and welcoming. She was a true friend that was willing to help out in any way possible. I always enjoyed taking long walks with the dogs together. There was never a quiet moment, Liz always had something to talk about. Her passion for animals was unwavering and amazing to see. Any animal in her care was pampered and provided with the best life. I will miss Liz and her genuine kindness she gave to every living thing.

I met Liz in a place neither of us wanted to be but knew we had to be there. She made me feel comfortable instantly when she knew I was nervous. I'll never forget the time we spent together getting better, I wouldn't have made it through without her. She was truly a light in this all too dark world. I'll miss you so much Liz. My heart goes out to her friends and family.

I am heartbroken to hear about Liz’s passing. Liz and I met in treatment as teenagers and grew close as we had similar struggles. I have never met a more caring, gentle, sweet soul that cared deeply about her friends, family, and animals. Liz reached out to me just a few weeks ago after she read my book, and shared how hopeful she was feeling. My deepest condolences go out to her family. She will forever be in my heart and I hope that she is finally free.

Liz was already known as a capable, knowledgeable and dedicated volunteer at Wings of Love Bird Haven in Texas when I stepped in as a new director. As a seasoned volunteer, she offered  much knowledge on  things I needed help with, such as where to find specialty items for the flock. When she volunteered she often brought toys and shared them with the flock. She was diligent, and noticed the subtlest behaviors which allowed us to adjust a bird’s care for the better. We learned from one another. She was a true collaborator. Her generous and giving nature touched so many lives and brought joy. She was a champion of educating the public on parrot rescues and parrot issues via Instagram. She truly walked the walk. Her bright light will be missed. Our hearts go out to her family and friends.

I remember Liz well, including her struggles and her courage.  Such a good life, lost.  Sending love and support to all who knew and loved her, and wishing everyone the time and space to grieve.

I had the pleasure of knowing Liz in high school at Daniel Hand, and spend many summers, afternoons after school, and weekends with her as we ran together in cross country and track. Liz was such a wonderful and supportive team mate and friend. We were all like a family in those years and I look back on that time with her so fondly.  We learned and grew together, we pushed ourselves and were there for each other, and Liz was such an important part of that.  I so greatly enjoyed seeing Liz thrive over the years with her passion for animals and many causes. Her compassion, selflessness and kindness for others is a beautiful trait I have admired in her. I’m so saddened by this news. We first ‘met’ on instagram, but then realized that we were training our dogs at the same facility.  We took our dogs hiking, only a handful of times, before she moved to Texas. My dogs loved her and of course Ellie! I feel so bad for her family, and also for her animals, who must be shocked by the absence of their beautiful human.

Heartbroken to hear this. I miss you already, Liz. So do my pets and, of course, all the other animals I know have been blessed by your beautiful soul, generosity and kindness. May your memory be a blessing to the world. My sincere condolences, love and support to the family.

I never met Liz in person, but we were friends online for two decades. We bonded over our mutual love of birds. Liz sent me hand-made toys for my cockatiel. Liz was a bright light in an all too often dark world.

I met Liz in NYC in 2019. We've been in touch on Instagram and she came with Ellie to an event we had in Westport a couple of years ago. She has been a supporter of our animal rescue advocacy among so so many others. 
I will miss seeing her sweet sincere caring thoughts about so many important causes, and of course messaging back and forth about one thing or another. Sending love to Liz's family, friends, and her precious little dogs and parrot.🩷🩷🩷

I was devastated when I heard the news of Liz's passing. I met her more than 10 years ago, when I started volunteering at Foster Parrots. She was so welcoming and already extremely knowledgeable about the birds. I attended the women’s march in 2018 alongside Liz (and her adorable dog Ellie) and others. We often enjoyed talking about veganism, animal rights, and political issues, and at one point several years ago I pet-sat for her family’s menagerie of animals (including Elvis). Ever since she moved to Texas, I’d missed seeing her around, but she would occasionally return to the sanctuary and she always brought a lovely, warm, cheerful presence that will be forever missed.

I met Liz while volunteering at Mystic Aquarium many years ago. I was struck by her very kind way. She was a beautiful and gentle soul! 
Praying she is with all the furred, feathered and finned souls that passed before her - the rainbow bridge isn’t just for animals but for those that also dedicated their lives to their love and support  💕

I remember how hard liz worked running cross country in high school and how much she cared for  everyone. Then after graduation I've enjoyed social media seeing/ communicating with her about her amazing animal causes (and pets!). Liz was a gentle soul, and I hope that you all have peace.

I went to Branford Hall with Liz. She was in my class. She was always the person who said hello with a big smile who asked how you were. Who asked if she could help in anyway if you were stuck, I don’t think I’ve ever seen her any other way, but helpful and caring and loving, a devout animal lover, a wonderful person she will be missed tremendously. I have nothing but fond memories of her Liz, my dear friend please rest in peace. My condolences to the entire family.

My Deepest condolences  to Liz's Family, friends and pets. I Volunteered with Liz at Foster Parrots. The very first day I went there she welcomed me with open arms. She had a way about her , a warmth and a smile that would light up the room. I asked her so many questions that day and she was so patient with me. Over the years Liz would do raffles and random drawings to raise money for different causes. I always loved her drive and ambition. I won a few of her raffles over the years and my flock loved her handmade toys she raffled off.  I watched Liz making toys one day for the birds and that was what prompted my interest into toy making. Any time I was looking for a toy piece or an herbal supplement she always knew where I could get it. I remember telling Liz one of the last times I saw her before she moved to Texas that she was an amazing person , I just wish she was here to tell her again. I know Elvis , Ellie and Titus are surely missing there mom :( My heart breaks .
I know Henry met you on your next adventure. See you again my friend .
